Book a 30 minute session with our Occupational Health Physiotherpist Lucy for an opportunity to discuss any acute musculoskeletal problems you have experienced within the last couple of weeks that are not part of a long term or chronic issue.
Sessions available include: 9:00 – 9:30 | 9:30 – 10:00 | 10:00 – 10:30 | 10:30 – 11:00 | 11:00 – 11:30
Please note, these taster sessions are mini-assessments to provide advice and tips rather than an in-depth treatment.

10:00 – 11:00 | Tai Chi | In Person
Join Business Confucius Institute Instructor Li Yueju for this introductory Tai Chi session to relax your mind and body!
Derived from Chinese martial arts, Tai Chi Quan incorporates many classic elements of Chinese thought, such as the unceasing change of yin and yang. Its movements are gentle and slow, like floating clouds and flowing water. Join us to move, relax and connect with others at this practical workshop. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for gentle physical activity.

Whether you’re experiencing sleep issues or would simply like to learn new ways to improve your sleep quality and habits, this online session will help you understand what sleep is, why we need it and best of all, how to do it better. Using science-backed strategies, Emma will explore:
- The 5-point switch off routine which can help the body and mind enter a deeper sleep state, improving the quality of our sleep
- How to defeat the midday lull
- How to wake up smarter
- Areas that can be distruptive to sleep, and
- How to help change them

Join us for a step-by-step cooking demonstration. Our budget-friendly recipes will provide you with the inspiration, tips and skills to prepare nutritious, affordable meals at home. Get creative with poke bowls and limit food waste with our smoothie ideas. All those attending will have the opportunity to taste the finished results, receive recipe cards and be in with a chance of winning the ingredients to take home!

Are you struggling with your posture? Do you regularly experience aches and pains?
Join Lucy from Sport and Physical Activity for a 15-minute upper body postural session which will offer gentle exercises for your neck and shoulders, including mobility, stretches and activation.
12:00 – 16:00 | 5-A-Side Charity Fundraiser Tournament | In Person
Sport and Physical Activity are hosting a charity 5-a-side football tournament at The Edge. It’s £30 per team to enter (so £6 each) and all proceeds will go towards raising funds for the Gryphons Abroad volunteering programme.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this event – you don’t need to be great footballer! You can bring subs and change your team around as needed, as we understand you may have work commitments during this time.

It's a welcome return to our campus for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), who will have a stall in the University precinct from Monday to Wednesday opposite the Refectory Steps.
Take a break to appreciate the campus and join a informed, guided walk led by experts from the RSPB with a focus on local wildlife and nature. Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear and maybe bring a water bottle.

Are you struggling with your posture? Do you regularly experience aches and pains?
Join Charlotte from Sport and Physical Activity for a 15-minute lower back postural session which will address issues with poor posture, working to improve aches and pains and helping you to re-balance.
14:00 – 17:00 | Bodington Cycle Circuit Taster | In Person
A great opportunity to have a free pedal round the Bodington Cycle Circuit. Bikes and helmets are provided or feel free to bring your own! There’s no need to book, just turn up.

14:05 – 14:50 | Wellbeing Viva Insights | Online
Microsoft Viva Insights gathers statistics and data while you work, makes sense of this information, and then provides recommendations which encourage personal wellbeing. You may already be familiar with Viva’s email suggestions about follow-up actions or booking ‘focus time’, but there’s lots more you can do – such as to set your virtual commute, track how you feel over time, send praise to colleagues and more. In this online session you’ll get to use Viva Insights and find some of its most useful features to help you improve time management and build healthy habits. Please note – your data is personal to you and completely private.
14:30 – 15:30 | Body Jam with Pablo | In Person
A mixture of dance and aerobic moves blended with the latest sounds of hip hop, funk, and Latin American music. This cardio session will make you sweat but fun is the key element in the 1-hour class.

16:00 – 16:30 | Meditation and Stretch | Online
A live, online meditation and stretch session which provides a mix of physical movement and meditation. Stretch your body, release any muscle tension and create a sense of calm. You will learn a variety of simple stretches which can be practised at your desk. No equipment is required, just wear comfortable, loose clothing if possible.
19:30 – 20:30 | Handball Taster Session | In Person
Handball is a fast-paced team sport that’s a mix of netball, basketball and football. Two teams play each other on an indoor court with 6 outcourt players and one goalkeeper per team. The aim of the game is to score as many goals as possible. Matches are 2 x 30 minutes. It’s great fun, good for your fitness and a great opportunity to meet new people. All levels of experience are welcome, from complete beginners to already established handball enthusiasts.
