Staff Counselling and Psychological Support


The Staff Counselling and Psychological Support service is set up to provide advice, information and counselling by email, phone and the secure platform Zoom. Please do get in touch by email at or phone 0113 3433694 and leave a message

For a confidential wellbeing chat, you can also email to arrange to speak to an Occupational Health Practitioner, available Monday to Friday during office hours.  These specialist practitioners are all nurses with extensive experience.

The Staff Counselling and Psychological Support Service (SCPSS) provides confidential professional support for all University staff for personal or work-related problems and challenges.

The service offers a range of support services and training to any member of staff:-

  • Confidential professional role-based consultative support and coaching

  • Psychosocial resources for personal wellbeing and professional competence (previously called PR Workshops)

  • Mindfulness training

  • Psychological Perspectives on Leadership and Management

The service supports the strategic plan of the University and its commitment to psychological health and effectiveness at work by providing support, training and resources for the psychological health of staff.
