Life can be unpredictable at times and many of us will face challenges that we need some help with for a variety of different reasons.  The University offers a range of support for all our staff and we encourage you to seek help as, and when, you need it.

Confidential staff counselling

If you are struggling and feel you are in need of some support, the Staff Counselling and Psychological Support Service is here to help. We provide confidential, professional support for any member of staff experiencing personal and/or work-related challenges. We are dedicated to providing the best possible support in a way that suits you – we offer face to face appointments or sessions over the telephone, by email or by Zoom. You can self-refer any time by contacting the Service by email or by phoning 0113 3433694.

Staff training and development

To support the wellbeing of our staff we provide a rolling programme of training events and consultancy sessions. These have been developed for staff experiencing psychological challenges in their work or working relationships and for those in leadership and management roles:

Bespoke training for teams

We provide consultations to managers to offer bespoke training and consultancy for groups and teams with specific needs and concerns. Our tailored packages explore: working with stress, managing change, self-management, mindfulness, emotional and social competencies. Contact us to find out more.
