Our teams

Health and Safety 

Health and Safety Services work in partnership with staff and the trade unions. Our aim is to assist you in the management of risks that your activities create by offering independent expertise and advice. We have developed a robust safety management system which is delivered by a team of Health and Safety Managers, Fire Safety Managers and a Radiation Protection Officer who provide dedicated, proactive and professional support to each faculty and service across the University. Health and Safety Co-ordinators are also available to support staff with health and safety matters at a local level. 

Health and Wellbeing 

The Health and Wellbeing team lead on the development and delivery of a wide range of initiatives, events and activities to support the mental and physical wellbeing of the University community. We contribute to the creation of University policies and procedures that relate to staff wellbeing and work with external organisations to raise awareness of local, national and global health campaigns.

Occupational Health

The Occupational Health team provide a range of services to support and maintain the health, safety and welfare of employees of the University. We offer confidential advice and assistance in: protecting health at work; promoting healthy working conditions; helping recovery and return to work after illness or injury; and improving health and fitness.

Workplace Counselling

The Workplace Counselling team provides confidential, professional support for any member of staff experiencing personal or work-related challenges. Our counsellors also provide a programme of training and development opportunities to support colleagues including: psychosocial resources workshops and role-base workshops and consultancy.
