10:30 – 11:00 | Meditation and Stretch | Online

Deborah Marcus will host a bitesize live meditation and stretch session which provides a mix of physical movement and meditation. The idea is to help to stretch your body and release any muscle tension associated with working at the computer – creating a sense of calm to prepare you for the rest of your day. You will learn lots of simple stretches which can be practised at your desk and some tips to help you feel relaxed. No equipment is required, just wear comfortable, loose clothing if possible.

No booking required – just join the Teams meeting on the day!

11:00 – 14:00 | Chiropractic Screenings | In Person

Mark Butterworth B.Sc. Chiro, D.C., M.C.C., C.S.C.P has 22 years experience as a chiropractor and will be offering mini consultations to provide advice on back pain, sciatica, neck pain and headaches. He will assess and discuss your issues then give advice on the best way forward to manage and relieve your symptoms.

There are a selection of times to choose from: 11:00 – 11:15 | 11:20 – 11:35 | 11:40 – 11:55 | 12:00 – 12:15 | 12:20 – 12:35 | 12:40 – 12:55 | 13:00 – 13:15 | 13:20 – 13:35 | 13:40 – 13:55

12:00 – 12:15 | Bitesize Lower Back Posture Session | Online

Are you struggling with your posture? Do you regularly experience aches and pains?  

Join Sport and Physical Activity for a 15-minute lower back postural session which will address issues with poor posture, working to improve aches and pains and helping you to re-balance.

Booking is not required. Please join the Staff Posture Sessions Teams Channel in advance to access the activity.

12:10 – 12:55 | Relaxing Yoga with Panna | In Person

The practice of gentle yoga involves a series of poses that are slow and deliberate, with an emphasis on mindful movement with the breath. Suitable for all levels, this session is designed to help you wind down and feel a sense of calmness. Please wear comfortable clothes. Mats will be provided.

Drop in and write with us every Wednesday afternoon. Whether you can stay for ten minutes or the full three hours, Write on Wednesday is free, open to everyone and all materials are provided.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced writer, use your time to hone your creative writing skills, chat with fellow writers or simply indulge your creativity in a calm, inspiring atmosphere.

Take a break for a relaxed stroll around Woodhouse Moor in the company of University colleagues. The walk lasts around 30 minutes involving a lap or two of Woodhouse Moor. Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear and maybe bring a water bottle.

14:30 – 15:30 | Gong Bath Sound Therapy | In Person

Join Craig Eddington, an experienced Sound Therapy Practitioner, for a 1 hour Gong Relaxation Experience. Turn up. Lie Down. Chill Out. The Gong is played gently along with Himalayan and Crystal Singing Bowls. There will be some time afterwards to chat and ask questions.

16:00 – 19:00 | ‘Scrapper’ Film Screening | In Person

Join us at the LOGIK Centre for the film screening of Scrapper – a 2023 British comedy drama which follows Georgie (Lola Campbell), a resourceful 12-year-old girl who secretly lives alone in a flat following the death of her mother. She makes money stealing bikes with her best friend Ali (Alin Uzun) and avoids social workers by pretending to live with an uncle. Out of nowhere, her estranged father Jason (Harris Dickinson; Triangle of Sadness, Beach Rats) arrives and forces her to confront reality. View the trailer. Run time: 1 hour 24
