1. Purpose of this statement
This statement tells you how the University will collect and process your personal data when you access this website.
2. Automated collection of personal information
As with most other web servers, when you access these web pages certain information you provide will automatically be recorded by the University. This will include your IP address, browser type, and information relating to the page you last visited. This information is processed to estimate how much usage of the server is made by different categories of users and in the event of a breach of security may be used to aid detection.
3. Non-automated collection
Where you are required under this website to provide personal data the uses of this data will be indicated on the page where it is requested.
Providing feedback on supplier quotations (some personal details are required but these are securely stored, and not shared with third parties)
Business intelligence gathering requirements fior University systems
Recording of personal data to enable the university to fulfil its obligations under health and safety legislation - e.g. applications for work permits, reporting of accidents and incidents.
Complywise – online health and safety training system. Personal data is used to recognise and enable individuals’ access to the health and safety training facility, record this through SAP into training databases and waiting lists when requested.
Sentinel – online accident reporting system. Personal data provided on accident / incident report forms will be forwarded to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) only as far as is required to fulfil the university's legal obligations when it is necessary to report incidents under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).
4. Third-party access
Your personal data that you have provided will not routinely be sent to other third-parties (unless notified – see 3. above).
5. Cookies
